There is no hard rule for how often a brand should update its website photos.
But if your site still shows people who no longer work there, old products, past buildings, or a look that no longer fits the business, it is time.
For many brands, a full photo update every one to two years works well.
But some businesses need new photos much more often.
Outdoor brands may need fresh content each season. Ranches and outfitters may want new photos before booking season. Builders and makers may need new work shown as jobs are done. Brands with new products may need content several times a year.
The better question is not, "How old are the photos?"
The better question is, "Do these photos still tell the truth about the business we are today?"
Your website should show what people can expect now.
If your team has grown, your work has changed, your shop looks different, or your brand has moved into a new market, old photos can hold you back.
You also do not have to rebuild your whole photo bank at once.
A smart way to stay current is to plan smaller content days through the year. One shoot might focus on people. Another might cover new products. Another could show real work in the field.
That keeps your site fresh without starting over each time.
Good photos should grow with the business.
When the business changes, the pictures should too.
